We have completed more than 50 painting projects in Excelsior and the neighboring south-shore communities since 2018. The mix runs from 1900s cottages near downtown to large lakeside homes on Red Cedar Point and Crane Island, and our crews are on the south shore most weeks of the season.

Excelsior's older streets near Water Street and the Commons are early-1900s cottages and Craftsman homes with cedar siding, painted trim and lead paint on original wood. Those get lead-safe prep, carpentry on sills and porch parts, and often a two- or three-color scheme. Lakeside homes toward Tonka Bay, Shorewood and Greenwood are larger cedar and stucco exteriors with decks, docks and stained accents, where mildew-resistant prep and careful masking matter.
Decks are a big part of our Excelsior work, from cleaning and staining to full resurfacing through our carpentry crew. Interior repaints and cabinet painting fill the winter.
Full exteriors on stucco, cedar, lap and shake siding, with lead-safe prep on pre-1978 homes.
Cedar siding, decks and entries in transparent through solid stains.
Victorians, Tudors and pre-1940 homes with multi-color schemes and lead-safe crews.
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, scheduled around how you live in the house.
Rotted sills, trim, porch parts and siding rebuilt before the painters start.

A typical Twin Cities exterior runs about $7,000 for a home with no lead paint and about $9,400 when lead-safe prep is needed; interiors average around $5,000. Excelsior projects follow the same pattern, driven by size, siding type and carpentry.
Metro-wide typical projects. Every project is priced on site.
Excelsior exteriors follow the metro pattern: a typical two-story cedar or lap-sided home lands between roughly $7,000 and $9,500, older cottages with lead-safe prep and carpentry run higher per square foot, and large lakeside homes are quoted individually. Our pricing guide explains what drives the number.
If built before 1978, assume yes. We are an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm and itemize the lead-safe prep steps on the proposal.
Decks, yes: cleaning, brightening, staining and board replacement. We do not work on docks.
Yes, transparent through solid. Lake-facing sides weather faster, so we often recommend a slightly more opaque product on the exposed elevation.
Yes. The whole south shore of Lake Minnetonka is in our regular service area.
An estimator comes to the house, measures it, checks for lead and rot, and leaves you a printed proposal with the prep steps itemized. No pressure and no obligation.
