Cedar-sided homes in the Township, century-old houses near downtown and the lake, and larger homes in Dellwood. We have painted and stained in the 55110 area since 2018, and most of the work here is exterior: washing and re-staining cedar, lead-safe repaints on older wood siding, and trim and carpentry repairs before paint.
White Bear Lake has two kinds of houses that need two kinds of care. Near downtown and the lake are homes from the early 1900s, with original wood siding and trim that we treat as lead-positive and prep by hand. Out in the Township and around the newer neighborhoods are later homes sided in cedar lap and cedar shake, where the job is a proper wash, woodpecker and knot-hole repair, and a stain system that will hold.
Cedar is where homeowners here most often ask whether we know what we are doing. We wash stained cedar with a wood-reviving soft wash, not high pressure, and apply solid or semi-transparent stain to suit how weathered the wood is. On pre-1978 homes we follow EPA lead-safe practices as an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm. Rotted fascia, sills and trim are repaired by our own carpenters on the same proposal.

Two recent projects: a gray colonial repainted on Hidden Glade Road in 2026 and a whole-house cedar stain in White Bear Township. Street names only, no house numbers.
Paint had started to peel on part of this 1998 colonial, and the homeowners had used us for the south-side trim the year before. This time it was the whole exterior: lap siding in gray, white trim and portico, black shutters and a red front door, with the garage and sunroom finished to match.
The work was scheduled around a week the family needed the house untouched, and the homeowners rated the project 10 out of 10: “Your team was super and cleaned up everything after the job was done.”
The homeowner wanted a company that understands cedar and knows how to wash and stain it properly. We cold washed the house and garage, then used a revive wash made for previously stained cedar.
Lap siding, gable shakes and soffits were finished in Sherwin-Williams WoodScapes solid stain. Fascia, window and door trim and the entry corbels were painted in Emerald Rain Refresh, with woodpecker holes filled and caulked along the way.
About two thirds of our projects here are exteriors. One in five has needed lead-safe prep, mostly on the older homes near downtown and the lake.

Yes. Small holes and gaps are filled and caulked as part of prep. Rotted fascia, sills and siding boards are replaced by our own carpenters at an hourly rate plus materials, listed on the same proposal as the paint.
Most exteriors are washed one day, then painted or stained over two to four working days depending on size, prep and weather. Your project manager sets the schedule with you before the crew arrives and walks the finished house with you at the end.
